She also has substantial experience working with harder to access and vulnerable groups such as adolescents, women, pastoralists, drug users and communities in challenging environments. Sue regularly provides technical assistance to and undertakes evaluations and assessments of SRH/MNCH projects on behalf of funders and NGOs. Sue has particular expertise and experience of working in Africa and other resource poor or constrained settings in South and Central Asia.

Sexual and reproductive health

Sue’s main experience is in SRH, including family planning, HIV and MNCH. She has worked in this sector for over 25 years in a range of different roles. Sue’s experience includes working with partners to develop and deliver quality SRH services and to strengthen health systems. Sue has substantial experience working with harder to access and marginalised groups including adolescents, women, pastoralists, drug users and communities in challenging environments.

Monitoring and evaluation

Sue has developed a special interest in monitoring and evaluation, in particular the power of M&E in helping to demonstrate change and learning, and to promote accountability. Undertaking and supporting others to undertake evaluations forms a large part of her work as an independent consultant. Sue also works with Bond, and other organisations, to train other development practitioners in M&E and accountability and learning (MEAL) approaches, methodologies and tools.

Organisational development and capacity building

Sue regularly provides advice and support with individual and organisational development and capacity building. Her inputs range from supporting change management through to thematic or project-specific support; for example, developing capacity for advocacy work or improved quality of care in SRH projects. Sue also provides bespoke training for individuals and organisations and works with organisations such as Bond to provide training in the core elements of project design and management.
